Basics of creating your plan

If you are running a business or thinking of starting a new business you do need a business plan.

Creating your business plan may seem a daunting task, but don't worry.

I suggest first of all to download our business planning template at http://www.teneric.co.uk/bptemplate.html

Here you'll see the sections you need to complete.

Your business will only succeed if you have enough customers paying enough to cover your costs - of course !

So deciding who your new customers are going to be is probably the most important - you may decide there won't be enough - then you may need to look at a different market place.

Start with the template and start to sketch a way forward.. Answer these questions:

> Where is your business now (SWOT and the like)
> Where do you want your business to be, say, in 12 months
> How are you going to get there

as I posted on another part, the creating part is the easiest. It's the analysis that takes the time in trying the find the data. It's good to know the format people want to see and thanks for all the advice
