I suggest this is the last part you put together because it is a summary of the entire plan.

Your executive summary should contain

• Your business vision
• Your target customers
• Your core products
• Why you are better than your competitors
• An overall financial summary
• A profile of your top management
• The purpose of the plan (ie: to gain financing)

I totally agree. Banks will look at this one pager and the finances. Then they'll discuss everything with you.

Executive summary is very important

I agree as well. Many VC's will first read the executive summary only. It is vital that your executive summary is clear, concise, and flows well.
