I want to approach a major company about a big plan I have involving High Schools, but i'm not sure if I should write out a full-fledge business plan or just pitch the idea to see if they like it first. What should I do?

Also, should I copyright my idea in the early stages? It's not an invention, but just an idea. Thanks!

UPDATE: I decided to write a full-fledged business plan. I have had an offer already for it. Should I copyright first? Thanks

And also, should I send as a word document or PDF?

Hi,

Personally I wouldn’t write a full business plan and send it, they can easily copy it and set it up themselves to save costs.

It would be better to create an info pack with key information, about the company, your services etc along with track records etc.
