Yahoo have an equivalent; Yahoo Buzz, but that's showing the Rubik's cube at #2.. I'm suprised anyone remembers that one!

I don't think there is any one "trend" these days. Everything used to be very focused, but you could be asking about trends for kids, for adults, for old people etc. Is there a specific market you're looking at?

The main theme of the IT industry in the USA for February 2007 was IT Jobs, believe IT or not!
