Red face Help! help! hell p!!!!!! - 27-11-2006, 02:00 PM

Hi people how's everyone doing?

I've looked round this forum and I must say it's very educational and challenging.

I'm an aspiring entrepreneur who is still in the planning stages. Currently, I'm trying to find a reliable and low priced printing company that can help me start off. For starters, I need to find someone who can print one-page A4 flyers. I'll be starting off selling mostly African VCDs and music and as such, I would like something like 16 front covers on each side plus text of course.

At a sooner stage, I plan on selling logo branded t-shirts, and I'll need a printer for this as well. I don't know what sorts of printing styles there are and whether it would be cheaper/easier to create one of those iron-on prints or an actual print. I'm not even sure what I'm talking about here..

Finally, I need to register as a sole trader and I am currently reading articles on the businesslink.gov.uk website. It's hard to find exactly what you want. I'm trying to register as a sole trader / not-a-limited-company and at the same time, find the costs for registering etc. As I would need a UK company number to register for the fairtrade organisation on Germany as well.

If anyone has any tips or pointers on the most cost-effective methods, please share as I am starting out on personal finance.

Thanks!
E

(Oh and I'm looking to sell 3 of my old domains e-stall.co.uk, housingmadeeasy.co.uk and cheerie.com. Does anyone reckon I can get a good price for them and where?)

Thanks a lot. I will try and give you a call. On the form, they asked for a UK registered company number, I'm not quite sure what that means and I want to keep from registering for VAT unless it's absolutely necessary (i.e if I start making over 60,000 per annum.) Thanks so much for your help.

I think they mean a VAT number - they cant do anything with a unique tax payers reference (i dont think)

I guess that they mean the registered number for Limited companies. Maybe you can fill in the form by just inputting N/A if you are a sole trader.
