Like the majority of businesses - I dont' want visitors, I want sales... I would imagine the conversion rate of such a system would be very very very low

Very understandable, however this is just a little bit of fun if anything else and if you get 1 sale from 1000 visits its still a result.

Yes but if nobody visits the lottery site (except people who want free traffic) nobody is going to visit you.

The idea behind the site is simple. If people want free traffic they have to visit your website to answer one simple question.
Suppose it depends what you are selling to determine if the visitor stays on or not.
