Hi everyone!

Ever heard of person -to-person lending? “Of course,” you might say. Well, probably that was the way you first lent money to friends or classmates. Now the internet community offers a way for you to do just that to your web neighbors, even old friends.

Prosper.com, an online people-to-people lending marketplace offers an avenue of both to borrow and lend money — another good area for investing that valued resource — in trusting, efficient, and easy way.

You can check out this site [url]http://www.prosper.com/public/lend/default.aspx[url] for more information regarding this new small business enterprise.

I'm going to have to look carefully at Prosper.com -- not saying they're a scam, but "when something's too good to be true, it usually ain't."

I'm leery of (a) transactions without a credible guarantor to protect all parties, & (b) guarantors that attempt to camouflage their fees. Both of these questions open everyone involved to some serious problems with banking regulators around the world. And, in this day & age, a vendor needs to be exceedingly credible before I authorise a PayPal debit, much less mail my VISA number.

There's also zopa. com - as seen in several full-page, full-colour adverts in some of the weekend magazine supplements a few weeks ago.

I don't see why someone would want to lend to zopa over savings accounts just 1% less than the zopa rates but with zero risk

I think one problem with best-finance is that it is much more like a bank where it can easily lead you out its door by just looking at your credit history and rating.

One advantage of borrowing in prosper.com is that lenders here has hearts. You can write a good story why you needed the money and the lenders are ready to hear it.

You can bump up your credit score by playing around with the variables, and also ensuring you have some fundementals in place such as being on the electoral roll.

I like the credit score calculator [ url deleted ] , which helped me to up my application scores somewhat.
