Smile Business Angel - 01-07-2008, 12:32 PM

I have done a search on Business Angel on the net and I'm getting companies that I will have to pay upfront for their services.

When I submit my business plan (which I need help on too) I will have to pay the agents from the website.

Is this correct? Is there any other way to get to submit my business plan without paying? I know you get what you pay for but just wanted to know.

Thank you everyone in advance.

Why should you get anything for free? If you want a professional service then you should expect to pay. And they will want the money upfront to discourage time wasters.

Effective Web Design - It's not that difficult if you follow the rules.

Business angels are looking for opportunities to see genuine opportunities. You normally pay to join the network, and sometimes, pay to pitch as well. Expect to pay a decent angel network around £400.

ask about their track record. Details of the process. if its a good network they will be very open.

I have listed a number of sites that might help with funding including BA's see if they can help

All this news isn't much of an incentive to the start up businesses who have good ideas but not much else, is it Designerajaz? And even when you've paid your upfront £400 plus to a business 'angel' that's no guarantee you'll get anyone to invest in your idea/company.
I was thinking just the other day - wouldn't it be a good idea to start a website or forum where people who have good, sound ideas put forward the gist of their idea and, on the other side, people (the general public - not businessmen looking to make a profit for their companies, themselves and their next holiday homes) who want to invest their money in assets/businesses that will make money buy into the individual's business.?

You could start off with your local council - most of them offer employment/training/careers advisory centres and offer workshops on business plans, how to formalise your own plus advice on who to approach for funding and what is expected of the new business in return for funding; what the terms are etc.
It's not entirely unbiased but it will give you an idea on whether you have a viable product/service.
