Finance needed for island with huge potential

How do you know? How do I know that your vision is viable and sustainable? How do I know that you have the business accumen to manage the project? Where is your business plan? What experience do you have in running a business?

There is nothing special about your vision, no matter how wonderful it sounds, all you will have is an island to be used as a leisure/recreation/retreat facility, something already in existance in many locations around the world.

Unless you have a killer USP in which case I tip my hat in your direction and wish you luck.

Unfortunately what you have at the moment is a pipe dream.
It doesn't sound like you have given any thought at all to preparing a business plan to identify costs, marketing, finance, investments etc etc

Ultimately the only thing you have going for you at the moment is a vision and in business you will need a lot more than vision. If you are looking for investment of $10,000,000 I can tell you that would not even get you started. You could easily use up that $10m purely on sanitation and not have a single habitable building. Design, project management and survey fees could easily exceed $10m.

whilst i dont think this plan will come to much - i still remember when i was 17 and wish you the best.

maybe you could start off with something a bit more within reach and save the island purchase till you are at least 19 and a half.

That's very true THANK YOU!!!. The more money that you have said I would need would be coming from the timber and coal what I have been told by the guy I probably would be working with on the island. Coal and timber are on the island so additional costs would come from that. I know this project could work and as many business people say 'The greater risk the greater reward' and I belive this could be a great new nation.

are you thinking of a democracy or dictatorship ? I like the idea of a dictatorship - but only if I was personally involved in the rule making. Maybe if you went along those lines you would need a Minster for Propaganda to keep the residents happy and compliant and I would also like you to conisder me for that post as well.

So how where you planing on getting the coal and other resources off the island? Wouldn't that be just like any other country exporting and such? Secondly do you have a other examples of business or resorts that you have been apart of that have succeeded?

So you have an island which attracts lots of rich clients because of it's natural beauty and isolation but you plan to chop the trees down and build a coal mine. And parked alongside the luxury yachts will be a coal ship.

Do you not think that if the coal reserves were a viable proposition somebody would already be there? In any case do you have any idea at all how much a geological survey will cost, let alone the cost of actually digging the stuff out of the ground. And how can you be sure that the coal is of the required standard and cheap enough to be used in a power station (your only possible customer).
