Re: Finance needed for island with huge potential

The coal mine is already there, so what the person I might be working with on this island has said to do is dug all the coal out of the ground and sell it all off because part of my vision of the island is the have the whole island eco-friendly even though it will be futuristic. Be happy I am sure this could work and the guy that I probably would be working with seems to know a lot about the island and its resources. I have heard the coal is hidden somewhere on the island. Please I need some finance to buy it.

So if you can find the coal, set up a mining company, get the license to operate, buy the equipment, drege the required deepwater channel, build a dock, charter a ship, find a buyer and emply the hundred of staff needed to actually dig the coal out you might make some money. All because some guy seems to know a lot.
That 10million you were after - that won't even pay to set up the mining operation.
And you want to be eco-friendly - have you seen the aftermath of a mining operation?
I'm sure you are have a strong belief in your dream but the financial implications make the whole project unviable. Put together a business plan and you will soon realize how much the whole thing will cost.

Write a business plan and you will be able to work it out.
But I would expect much change from $100 million.

What my plans are, are to start out somewhat slow... This will be done, by locating the coal reserves on Guafo and clearing out a small percentage of the vegetation(selling the timber for a large sum of money) and establishing environmentally-friendly and non-waste producing mines and farms.
This is what my bp e-mailed me.

Excellent. One assumes therefore that there is a logging company already operating on the island with the requisite permits, sawmills, infrastructure and shipping to get your wood to the distributors?
Do you know how much it costs to build a sawmill, roads, communications system, port and so on? Have you got permission to chop down the trees and costed the export permits. Have you got potential customers for the wood?
That $100 million dollars I suggested - double it.

BMX, you will never ever get 7million dollars until come come up with a realistic business plan. In any case it is going to cost you a lot more than $7mill to buy the island. There are going to be lawyers and land registration fees, taxes, travel and accomodation costs, bank charges, valuation fees. A survey will have to take place and any lender is going to want to see your project plan with a full financial analysis with a prediction of when you expect to start making a profit.
In addition, there may be coal but has a geological survey been carried out? Do you know the quality of the coal and your prospective clients. Remember that transportation costs could easily wipe out any profit you make. It's the same with the timber - it may simply be too expensive to fell, prepare and transport.
Then there is the infrastructure. Without power, water and a supply of raw materials your project won't even get off the ground.
$7000000 is way to low a figure - do the maths and I'll bet you that your costs will be at least 10 times that.
