How can I recover my old debts by hassle-free measures?

Hi Everyone, I am working in private banking sector in Australia and now days facing a problem of debt recovery. I have some amounts to collect from debtors but I also don’t want to take help from hard recovery chaps. Please do tell me if any one knows about it that can be done in a simpler manner (by legal means) and can be recovered with in a short time.
