Apex,

I'm confused, if you are a top result in google why do you need to promote the site?

And I'm not saying accura-tech are bad, it's just that they could do a lot to improve the site in order to improve your ranking and you wouldn't need the directory listings.

PS: Go get your money back from accura-tech, the site is littered with problems that are going to hinder you from acheiving a good ranking.
i think more consideration should be put into posts that refer to a third party that havent offered their services up for review. It is not fair on the company named.

If you are refering to code of the site, then whether or not it affects search engines results is largely a matter of opinion.

To have a stock reply that covers every site that doesnt validate and say that it will affect the rankings is just not correct and cannot be substaniated. This very forum doesnt validate - should the forum owner go and get his money back ?

Fair point, I should have been more constructive. Ther point about the designer was that they should at least have ensured that the basic elements were in place. By this I mean non-spammy and unique descriptions, main header and clean up all the reduntant tags. I also see a chunk of JS on every page that doesn't do anything.

The point about the ranking is valid - the lack of unique titles, descriptions and headers has a direct effect on the rank of a page. You can of course rank well if these are not in place but it is unlikely in a competitive market unless you have lots of quality inbound links.

If you do a search for apex-accounting.co.uk you will see 3 results - all the rest are in the supplemental index, google regards them as similar pages.

If you do a search for 'accountancy yiewsley' the snippet is not very helpful to the user and in fact only links to the privacy and contact us page rather than the home page as expected.

Joining a directory (as requested in the initial post) will not help as much as working towards improved organic ranking.

But I shall end as I began - with an apology for a somewhat insensitive post.

I think most of the Ideas are clear here in last posts, But I think write articles which are related to your site, and put your keywords in those articles according and then submit those to the article directories it will help more then directory submission and buying few one way links will be a good idea too. There are a lot of freelancer sites which can help you.
