I have come up with an idea that could potentially be worth millions and also help the environment, the problem is I am a college student and hence have no money for a patent or a patent search!

So hence I am asking here, I have been in touch with the company Innovate and they signed a non disclosure agreement and they said the idea definitely has potential however the service they provide is just a patent search and help with the patenting.

I am prepared to offer royalties or equity depending on how it goes, but any advice or potential investors would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much for you responses.

Just to be clearer, the company Innovate charges for their services hence why I didn't go with them.

I wish I could disclose more information to gain peoples confidence in the potential for this idea, obviously without an NDA I can't go in to any more depth.

Talk to your local business link, Princes Trust - the latter may even have abit of money to hlp. Nevertheless do not hold your breath - there is a 99% chance someone is ahead of you - it may not even be commericially in the market place. lots of patents are taken out to speicfically stop exploitation.

To patent an idea world wide will cost the best part of £100k and even if you have the protection!! have you still got any money to defend any infrigement? Its a civil law issue which most small businees cannot affoed to defend.

Try and think of a way of getting to market first and staying ahead so anyone else has to play catch up.

Sorry to be so pragmatic.
