Your Employer Annual Return for 2008-09 is due by 19 May 2009.
If you have 50 or more employees, then you’re already required to file your return online. Most employers with fewer than 50 employees will have to file online from their 2009-10 return – but can get a tax-free payment for filing the 2008-09 return online.
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is upgrading its online services over the coming weeks. As a result the services below will be briefly unavailable. (Please note that EDI users aren’t affected.)
From 6.00 am on Friday 3 April 2009 until 6.00 am on 6 April 2009, it won’t be possible to file your Employer Annual Return using the ‘Online Return and Forms – PAYE’ software on our website.
You can file online using commercial payroll software during this period, but between 7.00 am and 9.00 am on Friday 3 April and 12.00 pm and 8.00 pm on Saturday 4 April there will be some delays in receiving your acknowledgment messages. You should not resend your Employer Annual Return during this time.
if you file your 2008-09 return online and have under 50 employees, you may be entitled to a tax-free payment of £75 from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
