potential investor - 29-02-2008, 01:20 AM

Hi, just joined forum having read many of the post (interesting and informative) and so i wish to post the following.
I currently run my own business in the construction industry, i am just completing a barn conversion for a client (photo's available) and have worked on similar projects over the past twenty years (again photo's of work available). I am very skillful when it comes to this type of work and have produced some great work over the years imho. My trouble is that i am too passionate about the projects and not the business side of things (read making money).
What i am looking for is somebody to invest in my business and to also take care of the business side,paperwork/tax etc.
Firstly. to be completly honest, i have not done a very good job of running the business as i am always to busy working on the projects. Apart from a mass of paperwork, i have managed to run up a large debt.
I know this does not inspire any confidence in this investment or possibly me but i have realised my failings as a "business" man and I am dealing with these problems/issues. I have also taken my head out of the sand, so to speak and starting to deal with my debts.
The problem is that i am being overwhelmed by it all and just want to get on with the work.

I have a number of options and at the moment feel like quiting but thats not my style. Also, my next building project could be very lucrative, i have yet to negotiate costs and I know at this stage its not a sure thing but i have a 99% chance of winning the contract. I say this as i have completed work for this client before and also they would prefer me to work on their building project, subject to cost.

I know that i will get myself out of this situation over time but it would mean that i will have to spend more time taking care of business. If I sold all my assets then i would clear most of my debts but feel i would be back to square one, so to speak.

Now i know that i will probably get a lot of good advice on how to raise finance, produce a business plan etc and possibly being more proffesional with my "pitch". At the moment though, i am just looking for someone who may be interested in possibly investing both time and money whilst i continue with what i am good at - building.

If there is any one out there who would like to discuss this further then please contact me.

thanks for reading this.

PS just read through this sorry its a bit vague etc.
