Hi, I have been reading the forum for a while now with an interest in investing in a franchise myself.

I am very keen on the Cartridge World franchise but was put off in a HUGE way by some of the comments of some posters (not directed at CW but at franchising as a whole).

The general under current I am picking up is "DON'T DO IT", with the implication that many/most franchises are either a scam or a sure fire way of handing over my hard earned life savings to buy a non existant dream.

I have read (with great interest and a heavy heart) the comments posted here by those criticising the franchising businesses and can see and accept many of their points of view but can also see another side where investment in the right franchise can provide a good income and return on investment.

However I dont want to follow my dreams and ignore anyone elses experience and walk in to a nightmare.

I don't really wish to go in to the ins and outs of "is franchising a flawed model" but would rather glean information on Cartridge World from those with experience of either having a franchise, had a franchise or done previous due dilligence on this company.
Is Cartridge World one of the good guys that will return my investment plus a healthly income ?

If it depends on location any comments on what is a good location (ie take it as read city/town centre but are there atypical types of customer - old, young, students etc).

I would REALLY appreciate any info on this company as to whether they are an ethical good bet. If you dont wish to answer directly on the forum please could you PM me as I will be looking to make a decision on this company in the coming months.

Many thanks.

I understand that my local CW fanchisee has just gone bust. Stores in Newcastle, gateshead and Sunderland all closed last week.

I have seriuos doubts about the viability of the business model. Too many have closed for it to be seen a good move. go for something different.
