As I understand it, franchising is a concept. The British Franchise Association was set up to regulate the industry. Most franchisors and experts would recommend that you only go into business with a BFA recognised franchise.
I don't think that there is a legal requirement or specific standards to meet in order to franchise your business, but usually, you will have a proven business model. The BFA demand certain criteria are met before a company can join. |
