Does any franchisor charge monthly fees based on a VAT INCLUSIVE sales figure of the franchisees?

A very genuine reason for asking and some swift replies would be really appreciated.

Do you have a franchise you'd like to start or have an existing one which is why you are asking the question ?

Lisa, I think he is asking: do franchisers charge their fee on net or gross sales of the franchisee ?

Sorry for the ambiguity! I have an existing franchise. There is something of a dispute with the franchisor over the monthly fee being charged. I don't want to give too much away as that might prejudice any answers that I get. I'll explain when I've had a few answers!

I can say that my franchisor doesn't seem to understand the meaning of 'gross' and 'net' in the normail business way....

So- my question is, does your franchisor charge you your monthly fee based on your VAT inclusive or VAT exclusive sales- please don't use the terms 'gross' and 'net'.
