someones trading under my registered company name - 10-06-2008, 02:09 PM

can anyone help?

i have a ltd company with a registered name with companies house
i was notified that another company wanted to buy the name. so contact details were exchanged, but after a lot of sent e-mails still no reply what should i do next is it a visit to a solicitor?

Are they actually trading under your exact ltd company name?

Business link advices that there may not be a problem if the other company is at the other end of the country. But duplicating a local or national name may be challenged.

Your local trading standards office can sort this one out in minutes (usually).
