I have been thinking about buying a franchise in The Best Of does anyone have any experience of this company, both good and or bad. I know that my area is available and as part of my “due diligence” I would appreciate any feed back about them.

On the whole it does look a good business.

But remember you are selling to businesses a form of advertising they might not be aware of or be interested in.
If you really can push it into being used as a town's informational portal then companies will fall over themselves.

The guy who runs the one in our town is a nice guy, but he puts the hours in ( doing early morning business breakfasts 3 times a week )

For a small business the prices for advertising are not too attractive either and rmember that when you start you are selling advertising space on a website directory that nobody currently uses or visits.

John said that it will take him about 2 years to get his money back, but he has a good steady base now and I think he will make a reasonable go of it.

It's hard work and there are cheaper town portals that you can buy.

Good luck for the new year tho !!!

I have written numerous webverts for The Best Of in my local area and the business owner always showed enthusiasm and commitment and also generated a lot of work for me. I don't have any experience of actually running one of their franchises but the attitude of the franchisee I worked with always gave me the impression that the company was a good one. Obviously though you will need to investigate further before making a descision.
