It would depend on the advertisment. For example, when Yahoo started making TV commercials back in the 1990s to get their search engine going, it only took 3 or 4 times before I was chanting Yahoo ooo.
For Coca-Cola when they had the "Always" slogan, it only took a few times for me to have coca-Cola in my mind because they had a nice 45 second jingle on the radio that was very catchy.
Off topic - You should try radio branding by the way since it can be pretty cheap depending on the region and time you want to advertise in. Just make sure that you choose the right demographics for what you are selling.
One way that has worked out for me is to use a small town figure to do the add for you like the local football coach for the school if your product is sports related. These people will usually give you their voice for cheap.
