Profits in coffee shops are still to be had. But not from coffee alone. You need to have other attractions.

Statistically you will find many people go to coffee shops for social purposes (meeting friends) and/or business (ie: internet useage, meet clients etc) not just for a coffee!!!! You need to decide who your market segment will be and provide extras for that specific market (maybe childcare, music, internet access, specialty food etc).
