Contract or fixed term -
13-09-2007, 04:29 PM
Hi,
I want to work as a project manager contractor for my Limited company and I have recently been offered a "fixed term" contract for 12 months. If i take the role can I still benefit from tax reductions for things like travel expenses etc or am i classed as a permanent employee? any help would be appreciated. Andrew Capital Horizon Limited |

depends on how the client is paying you, if they are paying you as a perm employee i.e. your daily rate as a salary (i.e 200pd but they pay you monthly as a perm employee) then they will sort out your tax and NI etc. however if they are paying you through your Ltd company then you are responsible for the tax and NI but get the benefits of travel deductions and all that jazz.
I recomend having them pay you gross day rate as a contracter through your Ltd as you'll be able to wiggle a few extra pennies from the tax man :-) Good luck with your contract! |
