I run a boutique visual communications business and am going to introduce an e-newsletter/e-zine this January. Basically it will be e-mailed out to clients, contacts and subscribers on a bi-weekly basis. I am struggling to finalise the masthead/name for the newsletter at the moment. I am thinking about the name What's What? but am a little concerned that it doesn't say much. On the other hand, I don't want it to be too predictable/boring. The content will mostly be small business marketing and visual communications issues but from time to time there will be articles on the new media, techonology and publishing as well.

I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give me your thoughts on what you think of the name What's What?, and perhaps suggest one that may help me to get this e-zine off the ground.

Many thanks!!!

WHAT'S WHAT ?

Q. What do you hope to achieve?
Q. What is your target market?

Above are the two main functions for any marketing campaign and you should look at a name that will provide an affinity with your target market.

If for example you have fantastic products at reduced rates and the consumer will look to be purchasing on an on going basis i have always found the title IF ONLY! works great. I have used this several times and get a great responce.

Hope this helps and let me know how you get on.

Thanks, Paul. The primary purpose of the e-zine is to keep in touch and foster relationship with exsiting clients and contacts, and also to convert contacts to clients. In time to come I also hope to cultivate a list of subscribers whom I can convert to contacts and clients. The secondary purpose is to inform and to engage.

The target market is SMEs owners, ideally business owners who appreciate the value of good visual communications and are willing to pay for premium service.

Going back to the name What's What? I am thinking if I could have in smaller font Visual Communications above the masthead in big bold stylised font What's What? that may at least say something about the content? What do you think?
