Hi, i sell Gunge for fundraising events, and afew months ago i decided to start selling charity collection boxes. as i was the only one selling these, and there was obviously a demand, i could charge outrageous prices for them. now i feel very guilty, as i have got a sale going at the moment for 100, totaling 500 pounds (thereabouts, with bulk discount and shipping) and i feel so guilty i am charging so much for what only costs me appitance compared to what they are paying from me.

nice to get that off my chest any way.

:-)

Hmm, im just saying that i feel abit guilty charing so much, but the reason i do so is because supply is low, you cant get them in small quantities, and people want them but i still feel guilty....

it just started off as a supliment to the Gunge, i was expecting to sell about 2 a week at the most, but it has taken off dramaticaly and i regularly take orders for 12+ and i feel abit guilty....

hey - you have spotted a gap in the market, a nice market niche

Milk it whilst you are the sole supplier and have no competition

Enjoy your wealth; don't feel guilty

I would look carefully at the charities accounts before feeling guilty as many of the well known names raise funds to swell their bank balances and investment portfolio and only a comparatively small amount of what is collected is dispersed for charitable causes.

I would like to see a Government approved formula rather like the energy efficiency ratings given to fridges and freezers - which takes into account the amount dispersed as a percentage of the amount collected plus liquid reserves so that people could donate to charity with their eyes fully open.

As suggested you could make a doantion yourself to some charity that you feel deserves is or do a charity offer Buy x get 1 free. This may help your sales and give the charities extra collection boxes.

I'm off to make some charity collection boxes.

Mike.
