Re: finding staff - 13-09-2007, 08:26 PM

Thanks to all who replied to my dilema of finding staff to employ, i am going to give the advertising one last shot before giving up on the idea of ever finding a person with the qualities and qualifictions that are required to do this type of work. I know for a fact that there are qualified instructors out there who hate where they work, but are afraid to the proverbial leap of faith to work with a new employer, might be the fact that it's better the devil you know than take a chance with someone new. I do intend to continue with this type of work as its highly satisfying and beats working for someone else who couldn't give a damn about how you feel or the ideas that you have. To me there is nothing more satisfying than getting up in the morning and going to do a job i truly like and enjoy so i may well have to keep turning work away. I make a decent enough living from what i am doing and dont require mega millions in the bank i have job satisfaction and you cant beat that.

HI,
I wouldn't go for Gumtree if I were you. You ony have to have a look at Gumtee Jobsection to find out why!
NOw, for advertising, I have found JobCentrePLus very useful and its either Free or very cheap to advertise. Also, local borrough councils in your area should also have a job section for regional localites.

On a more pro level, search online for local recruitment agencies, esecially with the ones with national-level databse. They'll have a gud website with thousands of CVs. They would charge a nifty sum but you are guranteed a good return.
Trying to recruit direct by advertising in local papers etc, is complete waste of money. You dn't have HR exp, and you wouldn't know employment law inside out. You sure can recruit direct once you get the hang of rues etc.

Gud luck
Hersh
