Apart from the negative aspect that taxes increase business costs, it seems inevitable that governments will be forced down the road of some sort of green taxation. Without the carrot and stick approach I can see no easy way for government to change people's behaviour and give us a chance to avoid the impending disaster that awaits only a few years down the line.
