Hi
I would like to put the spotlight on image for SME's through a website. For example, I see so many websites with mis-spellings - and so many webites that don't reflect the image of the businesses they are trying to promote.

Also, with the coming of the digital camera, the quality and style of pictures has deteriorated, as everyone is having a go at photography in order to save money.

My last point is - the total change that has taken place in handling the telephone. Most companies never respond when you leave a message on voicemail - and the voices you do talk to, can only be described as depressing! There are, of course, one or two exceptions - but they are exceptions.

Would there be a market for this type of service these days?
I welcome your feedback.
Regards.
Henry

I presume we are primarily talking about photo's used on websites "fotofast" ?

I totally agree that designers and webmasters are using images that have been captured with a med / low spec digital camera but I am sure you can see the pro's of this?

I would love to use "professional standard" images / pictures on the website's that I create but the majority of my clients (who happen to be SME's) do not wish to spend the extra £'s on this...

The fact of the matter is - you can create "decent" pictures (I suppose this is a personal perspective on 'decent') with a low spec £30 digital camera from Argos or even a high end camera phone, stick it through paintshop or photoshop and come out with something that can be used on the web.

There are also a lot of "stock photography" website's on the net that you can grab images from - either free or at a very low cost, if you want an image of a woman answering the telephone - do you hire a pro photographer and a model or do you grab an image off the net for £2?

And it's not just about the quality of the original image. Unless the image is manipulated correctly using an editing application, even the highest quality picure can end up looking grainy and pixelated.

I'm all in favour of badly built websites and lacklustre telephone manners. As long as they are my competition!

I don't understand what you are asking.

However I would advice for websites:

Nice layout, clean and pleasent colors.

Good unique, and correct grammar. Spelling also.

Then advertise it.
