martial arts equipment - 26-11-2007, 02:00 PM

is there anyone on the forum who knows about martial arts. I have the opportunity to be the sole importer and supplier for a new product from the States and want to know a bit more about the industry in the UK before deciding on whether to do it or not.

thanks in advance

Hi I'm currently in the early stages of setting up a martial arts academy in Kent. Aiming to have a gym up and running in the latter part of next year. PM me with more details, I have access to a fair amount of contacts in the industry.

i am a martial arts instructor i train in about 5 dojos accross the midlands UK and i teach a club in stafford and birmingham, what did you want to know

i think your main competitors are people like blitz, sc... something cant remember there last letter sorry.

remember that different parts of the world and different organization and association have different standards for equipment so you will want to look into that.

and just for the record if you are a person studying japanese martial arts it is highly disrespectfull to class someone as a master due to competition status, it is an insult to the really japanese masters and founders, to be a master you have to be issued a red and white striped belt by the highest grades in japan.
