Hi All,

I am involved in software business. As I have lots of good acquaintances in Russia we do outsource work to Russian pros. The market is full of outsourcing companies nowadays. One can find lots of offers from India, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. I decided to go other way... not to market simple outsourcing activities, but market that we develop your products (one project of that kind will start soon), you know somebody needs some kind of thing, and you know that somebody does need it. So, we know how to build it, we take care of everything concerning design, documentations, implementation and then it's your product and we are your technical partners. I realize all the risks, which a potential partner may have being involved in such cooperation, but I know some quite successful companies in Europe which benefit a lot from such cooperation.

Another idea is that due to the fact that we are dealing with professionals directly, we have very low outsourcing rates (starting from 5 euros per hour, or 500 euros per project). It's quite simple, I know all of them in person and we transfer payments directly to them in Russia, so... no other expenses are involved.

Third idea on contrary to simple outsourcing is that we also take complex research tasks. Would you like to have your own audio codec developed? We can make it. Your own image compressor? We can make it. This happens because the contacts we have amoung Russian scientists and engineers are of very high level. Sometimes they are not interested in changing their job, but they are interested in making some extra money.

So, my thought was that at least one of these ideas will hit the spot, and if all do, then it will be a big success. I can't say that I totally missed the target, no... but (and here comes my question) do you think this is reasonable? Sometimes I am thinking that I was too naive, or too optimistic. My energy has always been enough to work 14 hours a day and make my partners and employees believe we'll be doing very well. But may be I was mistaken?

As I said, the impression I got from the community is very ncie, so I am sure you will try to get me right, and I hope to receive your opinions. Thank you very much in advance!

Cheers!
