Is print advertising dying? - 21-11-2005, 04:36 AM

One of the main difficulties faced by any business owner is that advertising has changed and evolved over the last few years. It now includes visual, audio and electronic media. So is traditional advertising, particularly newspaper, magazine and print advertising dying?

If the answer is yes, that's bad news for me. But if the answer is no, what are your thoughts on this changing playing field?

Much depends on the business that one is in as I can't see people searching out local tradesmen on the internet and most finance products, whether personal or commercial are still advertised and sold by more traditional methods.

I agree, advertising has evolved greatly in the past years over a variety of mediums. But I think print advertising will have its place for some time to come. Especially in smaller, brick & morter type establishments and less technical markets. Especially with the relatively cheap cost of print advertising in magazines, classifieds etc. I know even as running a high-tech company, our marketing budget actually has a bigger share put towards local print advertising. So I think it will be a great asset to many people for some time to come.

definately not! it will be alive for a while. it already survived TV. so why not internet as well? <;
