Stop National Insurance Contributions - 18-07-2005, 08:48 PM

Hey all,i have a problem i was self employed at start of year but now i am no longer self employed and am now in a full time job but i recieved a national insurance conributions bill yesterday but i wrote to them explaining i have stopped being self employed and i pay national insurance in my new job so i would like to stop paying national insurance on being self employed so why have they sent me a bill for past months and how would i go about stopping it??

is there an address i can write to as the last one may have been wrong etc??

I would call 0845 9157006 which seems to be a "helpline" for HMRC (NI in particular). Writing will do no good (IMO) you need to talk to someone.

Is your new employer not able to give assistance?
