Survey, need help!!

Hey,

I'm Anne from Germany and I study Marketing at the University of Trier.

My latest project is, that I have to help two of my fellow students with their diploma thesis. Therefore it would be great if you could fill out this survey about Henkel, a german company: www.survey.uni-trier.de.

The survey doesn't work.

The last question on page 1 asks:

'Which products from the above question do you associate most closely with the company'

My answer is 'none' since I've never heard of the company. This makes me unable to answer any of the questions on page 2.

On pages 2 and 3 there are questions about the company that I can't answer. for example:

'How would you rate the following statements about henkel'

Since I've never heard of the company even selecting the '0' option is pointless.

Later pages are also unanswerable if I don't know who henkel is.

It follows therefore that the survey is only relevant to people who know about henkel. It's like any large corporation, most people don't know who the parent company is and don't care. I may not like ICI but I'll buy their products without even know that ICI owns the products.

Hi fisicx,

yes you are right, you should know henkel to answer this survey. If you don't know the company you can answer the survey only regarding the products from henkel that you might know. So for example if you know Theramed , Bac or Fa you can answer the questions about henkel only regarding the products you know and for instance how you see the quality of henkel with regard to the products.
The problem in the UK is that only a few people know henkel, but the product brands are more known.

But I've only ever heard of 1 of the products and the survey won't let me continue until I've filled in all three boxes.

The actual question asks:

'Which products from the above question do you associate most closely with the company Henkel'.

The answer for most people (including Germans) is none. We do not associate Persil with Unilever or Locktite with Henkel. Do you go into a shop and check the manufacturer of the products you buy? Do you know who makes Dusch Das?

This is why the survey doesn't work. I've tried to answer the questions but what do I do with a question that asks 'Do you trust Henkel'. I could select '0' but this indicates I neither agree or disagree when the real answer is 'I don't know who Henkel is'.

if you dont know at least 3 products you can not answer the survey, you are right

It's not the product that's the problem, it's associating them with Henkel.
