Teneric Forum Success...

I've recently started a new forum as a new part of my site, and I was wondering how you all found Teneric, and what prompted YOU to join?
Also, as an aside to Peter (this could get confusing FAST), how did you grow your forums and get the number 1 on Google (doesn't hurt to ask...)

start with a few forums to get the post count up

most people just browse and don't post at all/ or take time to register and post

#1 on google took a long time - this forum is nearly 2 years old and the overall site 5 years

This is old, but I had to say two things.
1. Hope you had good success Pete.
2. Teneric by Peter is a massive success due to some superb SEO.

I Moderate an industry specific Forum the Forums not mine but I was asked to be Moderator.

Because its probably the most successful we are often hit by people trying to start their own and putting Links in

I know this Forum takes a hard line on this . We do also but do it by deleting posts . We find that spamers join and our Sleepers for a few weeks and then the games start.

The reason they do it is they are not getting traffic.

The other problem is unless you can get people to post interest is lost.

On another Forum I was a member off in another trade I was disapointed to discover that the owner and several other had multiple user names.

On one related to specific company but started to enable Assosiates to have an independent voice they were able to capture the companies email list and tell the location of the Forum
