A word of notice - whilst you may be good with a PC, that is not to say you can design! I would rather teach someone with an eye for detail and no PC experience how to make a site than someone with no eye for detail but are very proficient at C++ for example!

Now I might be talking out my ar*e here (and someone will probably point this out if I am) but word press can be used to make a good site quickly and easily. Better still, there are thousands of top quality templates you could use to quickly give your site a visual presence that you simply could not do yourself! But I haven't used word press in years so I may be dreaming!

I recommend downloading, and trying out Joomla. You can install extensions like photo galleries and blog sections for it.

Without needing to learn any code you can configure a site pretty well, and download from lots of sources, a nice looking free design template for it, so you don't need to know how to design or code that either!

Wordpress is great for creating websites and it is free. Many people think of Wordpress for Blogs, but the reality is that a Blog is a Website. Therefore, Wordpress is great for building professional looking websites. The advantage is that you wouldn't need to pay a webmaster as Wordpress has an admin area which puts you in control of your site.

I also recommend Joomla, you can get some very professional looking templates for about 50 quid. However, there is a lot to building a website that is going to bring you customers, and unless you are prepared to spend dozens and dozens of hours reading and learning, I would suggest you hire someone who knows what they are doing, and concentrate your efforts on running your business.
You also need to bear in mind that a website is absolutely useless if no one visits it, so you will have to invest even more time/money in trying to rank it in google.
