I would think that wordpress is a great blogging tools, there are also quite a lot of plugins which you can use to help you generate traffic and make your blog more user friendly.

I use .blog.co.uk and have linked from my main website. I agree it can be high maintainence but worth it. At present I try to add an article once a week so I tend to have 2-3 article banked (ie pre written and saved in word) incase I am having a busy month and cant get around to writing it. My stats show 6-7 visitors a day but you dont know how many of these are just clicking thru the blogs and find it as opposed to serious readers.
I do find it good in terms of testing my knowledge (ie going public) and showcasing a basic overview of the credibilty in the subject matter I am trying to sell...

Maybe you can also write and have your articles publish in article directories if you wan to have traffic to your blog.

Any suggestions on how to drive traffic to blogs?
