Bluetooth Proximity Marketing Software - 06-11-2007, 12:06 PM

Greetings,

Fantastic Media sees the launch of a genuinely revolutionary marketing solution which uses Bluetooth connectivity to deliver marketing messages, adverts, videos and vcards to the mobile devices of passers by.

The solution comes in the form of a unique PC software which is shipped with a bluetooth transmitter and a lifetime broadcasting licence. Once executed the software simply prompts for a file, this file can be any mobile phone compatible file i.e. jpeg, gif, gp3(video), vcard and more.

Once setup and running the software repeatedly scans the proximity for new devices and once it has 'discovered' all new devices in the proximity it enters Mass Send Mode. Here it loops through each phone and invites the phone to receive the file. Any bluetooth enabled handset will receive an invitation.

We have delivery rates of approximately 40 - 60 per hour (in a busy public place).

There is a one off cost for the software and dongle which we deliver via recorded next day postage to any location in the UK and EUROPE. This item is currently selling for £197 at our primary website but all members of this forum may take advantage of a £75 one time special offer.

For those who would like to resell our software we have boxes of 10 units going out with your own logo on the box for £499.90 which means that you are paying £49.99 each and have a great resale opportunity.

Every retail business who I have demonstrated this software to has bought it ! This is going to be big.

It sounds horrible. It's spam. It's an intrusion on my privacy. I really do not like this sort of thing, I hope it fails - that's how much I despise this use of technology.

Hello,

The software follows all UK marketing regulations and information never reaches the recipient unless they give permission. The software is also courteous in that it will not continuously annoy you, it asks politely and if ignored or declined then it stops bothering you.

There are some vendors out there whose software just brutally hammers each phone with continuous attempts to send the file which I agree is awful.

We are trying to deploy this software into a market where we could also send out tourist information, public health and safety messages and more.

You require me to do something to not receive a message. If I leave the area and return the exercise repeats itself. I cannot prevent you from doing this. You have put the onus on me the consumer to decide if I want to receive information or not. Worse still if every shop on the high street does the same then I'm going to get pinged every few seconds. I shudder at the thought.

I would also consider that you are on the very edge of the law. You are required to get permission from me before you send me a message. How will I know that you wish to send me a message? What indication do I have that this is an advert or some other promotional information?

Tourist information? How will you know who is a tourist and who isn't?

i dont think that most people leave their bluetooth on as it uses battery. Additionally with most mobile devices i thought you had to set your bluetooth to a mode that allows another device to find it
