Multiple Blogs

Has anyone any thoughts on multiple blogs, i visit a variety of forums inc dp, and see ads for "450 links from 300 blogs-seperate IP's" type of thing, Are these links of any value for serps?

if they are promoting a certain site., that helps in both traffic and rankings

Obviously they will help for traffic if someone trying to get valuable traffic but have to make certain strategy for multiple sites.

Don't bother. Most blogs have a 'nofollow' tag on their comments so there is no SEO benefit. You might get some traffic but only if your comment is valuable and piques the interest of the reader. Much better to concentrate on a few chosen blogs and comment regularly to build up your credibility.

I have noticed that many of these offers are do follow, it seems they use a plugin for wordpress apparantly.They also mention that their pages are "pinged" frequently.They don't usually have much pr, and of course they do have mulitple posts on the blogs, so your post would disappear into the inner pages? Just trying to see if it's worth a go..

Can you explain a little more about what it is you are doing. Are you proposing to post on multiple blogs or comment on multiple blogs?

All wordpress blogs are 'pinged' nothing new there. BUt if you are going to have the same post on lots of blogs then it's a real waste of time - all but 1 will be completely ignored by the search engines.

Are you sure you really understand what 'nofollow' means?

Probably not worth it. If your site suddenly gains 300 links, search engines are going to view it with suspicion (have you paid for them? are they spam?) and you risk getting blacklisted.

Far better to build links with blogs you respect that are relevant to your site. Those are the valueable links.

Thanks for the replies,

One thought i had, which has been touched on in the replies, is the fact that you would gain a large number of links(eg 300+) and also it would be duplicate content, because the post would be identical. I don't think that is such a good idea. I have heard the term article spinning, which i assume means they change the article slightly to get around the duplicate issue.

I also wonder how they can post to 400 + blogs so quickly, is there some form of user panel / plug in which enters the post to all the blogs in one go?
