some advice please

I would like to know how i can legally send info abot my business to other busniess/organisations that i think would be interested in my products

is using emails thats are in the public domain ie business emails a bad idea, would that be classed as spam and is spam actually illegal or does that just apply to programs that randomly generate email addresses

i am looking for cost effective means of advertising, email seems great, i dont mind putting in the hard work but i dont want to do anything thats not really on the level.

i apologise in advance for my ignorance, but then if everybody new this stuff there would be no point in this forum i suppose

There are certain rules about email marketing that make it illegal to spam people.

But there are a ton of ways to market your business to your customers.

We run events, different social things ladies nights, comedy nights, balls, and things like that we also run art workshops.

we are collecting email contacts from clients with permission, but thats a very slow process.

What are the restrictions about email marketing, all advice or ideas about helpful literature.

in terms of data protection, what kind of data does that apply to, is it just private data or data that is publically avaliable aswel, ie business emails.
