Trading Business opportunities with Teneric members?

I am fairly new to these Forums - so if this has been discussed before or it is posted in the wrong place then my appologies...

My company offers "Business Website Solutions" to new / small businesses, which is basically the setup, hosting and running of business websites. I aim to be "everything" that the business client needs to trade on the internet - this is obviously a tall order because not only is there the technical side of running a website, there is also the "business" & "legal" sides and the nightmare logistical side if a client is running an "online store".

Now my idea is....

I want to be able to offer as many services to my clients, as "approved" services or "partner" companies to my own, these could include solicitors, accountants, marketing guru's, owners of web directories, courier services etc etc etc (you get the general idea....) But until now I had no idea on where to start looking for these businesses - I didn't want to pick businesses at random and approach them, but I think that Teneric members show a commitment to their businesses and as such should prove reliable.

What do I get out of it?

Erm..... My business benefits from offering more services through it, and hopefully some of my "partners" would return the favour if they knew of anyone requiring business hosting

Sound idea or totally NUTS??????

Actually something like this has been muted before.

We need a kind of members directory by specialist subject I suppose

I'm not sure that a members directory would do it on this occasion - that's if you meant I direct my clients to the directory? But maybe a members directory for people to find "partners" might be a good idea

Maybe we can take this further by getting members to agree to give new customers discounts if the new business comes via another teneric member.... That way it would be more inviting to customers and give the teneric member a better image by giving their clients discounts at other companies....

I think i may be rambling now, but it's got to be a good idea? Does anyone else have any input?
