Hi

I was wondering if its possible to edit oscommerce in dreamweaver, like the colours and images and design if possible ? also moving around or deleting sections ?

I am new to php, and e commerce shopping cart software. so thats why Im wondering if it can be edited in dreamweaver. if possible then I would need to learn dreamweaver more, as im a newbie.

Thanks in advance

Nizmo

If you are new to it - don't. OSCommerce is quite complex, and moving stuff around can break it. Use the default setup for a while, then look at changing it. Yes you can use dreamweaver.

Don't 100% agree there Patrick.

Yes, OSC is a complex beast and it is easy to break, but just editing the look of the store through the stylesheets is pretty safe, and adding/removing boxes isn't too tricky either.

Dreamweaver is fine for the job. Just keep a backup of the entire directory structure so you can revert if you lose track of what you've done. Read up on CSS and search for tutorials on editing the look of OSC.

As Patrick says there are a lot of files in there so don't go editing anything you don't know, if you want to change the functionality you need a good grasp of PHP before hand!
