I tell you, this has got to be the all time favorite question for wanna be internet marketing success stories.

It's a trial by fire unless you have a mentor guiding you with 1-2-3's.....but you CAN do it. And it IS worth the learning curve.

1. best to consider your content, what you specialize in

eg. collectibles, adult content, horse racing etc. etc. etc.

2. then, go for traffic - i've created 55 uncommon ways to advertise my site for traffic - no i am not selling it here, my point is that you figure all the different ways to promote your online presence:

eg. ebay traffic, buy traffic (cautiously), Google adwords, Craiglist links, Blogs, Adsense, Forums (obey the rules), Newsletter, Business cards (i put URL and nothing else), Search engines, Websites, ebay Guides to name just a few ways to promote....bumperstickers, placemates, balloons billboards, t-shirts etc. etc. etc.

3. next, use basic promotion tatics on your content to make a sale:

A. simple grammar
B. white space around your writing
C. adia ad.s meaning: Attention, desire, interest, action
*Let me explain this a.d.i.a. idea - first get reader's attention, then build desire in readers, then build interest in readers, and tell them what action to take

i could continue explaining 3. promotion but wait a moment and read down below here!

4. make the sale - are you selling something with testimonies, proof, advice etc. etc. etc.

there is all you need to become an internet marketer - well almost - you need to learn to search the internet for what you want - NOW! I AM GOING TO SAY SOMETHING REALLY AMAZING! everything you need to find out for I.M. is available for FREE! on the net.

WELL ALMOST! You need not spend a dime on secret wealth guides if you understand this.....solve your own problems!!

Today, i had a very complex problem with eBaY marketing, I had to FEED MY BRAIN the problem and figure out a solution that is very unique! I did it! You should not run into too much of that until your more along in your marketing campaign....if you find that you cannot get answers than you might be pushing the envelope too far and too soon! Don't go so fast!

I want to add something. If you need to get into internet marketing, you may need to study search engine optimization and how you optimize your website accordingly.

You need to know the techniques used to design a website search engine friendly and after establishing the website what are the techniques you should follow you be withing the first initial organic results when searchers type specific keywords searching for a product/service similar to yours.

I advice you to read the book titled Search Engine Optimization for Dummies. Please take care of the differences between the time the book was written and nowadays as there are some techniques are different.

I recommend go to Google and make a search "77 ways to get traffic". It is a free e book.

You need to build yourself a reputation and become an authority on a niche of your choice or have an interest it to make money. Funnily enough you are off to a great start by posting in forums. Forums are a good way to build your reputation online. There is something for product info, that will help you make an informed decision about products, e-books, courses etc: Rating hub is a hundred percent real user based site that reviews Internet Marketing products. Every product is rated by end users, (bit like Amazon). The hub sends out newsletters for the latest batch of products reviewed so you are always up to date. It’s a real help if you want an opinion on a product or course in Internet marketing. Also, as you are doing already, join a lot of
forums and start to ask and answer questions and after a while people will start to recognize you and trust you. This is also a good way to build an opt-in list that you can send offers to. But of course you have to have something to offer first!

You should also start a blog and post to it daily. Blogs are an excellent way to communicate with your customers and answer their questions. Another way is to write articles on your niche and submit them to directories with a link back to your site.
