hey guys,
i have been hanging around these forms for some time now, just reading. i ran across this interesting site yesterday and i am thinking of putting up ad space on it for my store. i emailed the guy running it and he sounds very legit. i know these sites are the new fad in advertising because there are so many. anyway i emailed the guy and here is the email he sent me back:

"I'll make this short and simple.

I have come up with a new way for your business to reach millions of people and have the potential to increase web traffic by over 500%.
Here is how it works.

• I am selling ad space to advertisers (you).
• Then the public enters (for free with no strings attached) to share 50% of the

money I made from selling the ad space. This can be up to $1,000,000.
Imagine the traffic this site is going to get when the pubic finds out I'm
sharing up to $1,000,000 with someone. This invitation has been sent to thousands of businesses nationwide and ad space will fill up very quickly.

Want to learn more? Please visit: [ url removed ]

Thanks for your time and support. Come share this great opportunity. Also, please

spread the word and come back and visit to enter to win up to $1,000,000."

i'm a little hesitant but the guy and site seems very legit, and the investment is very minimal. i wanted to see what you guys think about it before i go ahead and do it. thanks in advance guys.

Ever since the first one, everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon and there are loads of these pixel advertising sites now. I assume that it was the concept that you wanted comments on and not the specific website which is why I removed the url from your post as the specific site is irrelevant

Hmm... I don't get it. What do the customers have to do to get paid?

How can he promise to increase your traffic by over 500% without knowing your current traffic, demographics or anything?

I can only guess that he's offering to split your CPC revenue with the customers. Every time they click on your ad on his site, you pay him and you pay them. Sounds very expensive for non-targetted traffic. Non-targetted traffic is almost worthless. And that's even assuming that anyone who clicks on your ad will even read it or take a cursory glance over your site when they arrive. Or even that they are real people. What protection is there against scripted clicks etc...

"Get traffic quick" schemes are usually a waste of your time. The best way to build up loyal customers is one at a time. Get people onto your site by finding the people who wat to know about it and telling them - make it worth their while, take a loss on the first sale. Let them see that you are taking the risk when you sell to them, that they're not taking the risk when they buy. Then make sure that your quality of service is second to none and keep them coming back and telling their friends.

Missed the boat on this one I'm afraid mate,

Right after the whole 'Million dollar pixel' hoohaa last year, when Alex Tew made $1000000 from selling pixels on his site, a load of copycats stuck up clones and variants of the site, but none of them took off.

The 'pixel lottery' idea was done loads of times too.

The problem with the copycats is that the value in the original site was that it was the first of it's kind, and had a MASSIVE amount of publicity both in the mainstream press and in the online community - this gave his pixels real value.

The problem with the subsequent sites was that without the publicity / traffic, the pixel ads were worthless, and in terms of the lottery aspect - would you trust some webmaster somewhere to shell out half a million quid once it's in his bank account?

Hope this helps...
