Hi BizNE,

You may have a point. The business is not really as you describe though. PP really does provide an ened to end photo trading system. The events photography is where the regular income is and members that bother to recruit a team can expect very substancial rewards. Any gathering of people having a good time is an opportunity for PP members.

Your description is more along the lines of a basic image library which PP is most certainly not.

I have checked the documents that we have in the about section again and I believe that a few minutes reading will let most people understand how the business works.

I have two teenage daughters, they shot their first event last night, pics should be up later today. They are selling the pics to their mates at £1 a go.

The model only requires a commitment of £10 quid. The shopping cart alone is worth more than that and it can be used in any website in a non branded version.

Maybe you should through caution to the wind and give it a go. It is great fun working the club and bar sceene as a pro photographer, with your id badge etc. You really do get to meet a lot of people that you would otherwise not.
Cheers

IMHO I think the site is fine as it is.

As a closet photographer I immediately saw the potential for photo sales from a different angle to the traditional stock libraries.

The punters who come to the site will have a card to tell them to go there and will have no interest other than looking at their own pics - and that's clearly marked top right.

You've spotted a good gap in the market there cjay, well done. I will be giving the web address to my fellow club members. However don't hold your breath for a batch of new punters as we had All About Pictures (some business friends of mine) to do a presentation about selling work recently. The response was that of 'well it's easy for them to say....'. I guess I should accept that not everyone has a business based thought process.

Roy

Hi Roy,

Glad you got the business model, I was getting a little concerned that we may have missed the mark. If you take a look at 'you've been snapped' and entre the venue 'Kubar' you will see that even teenages can create greate shots from a night of partying.

I could have done with this last weekend.

I was out around the Norfolk Broads and a Mid Life Crisis guy (just like me!) rolled up on his gleaming, chrome laden Harley. He said it was ok for me to take some shots but I didn't even have one of my Alloy CRM business cards to leave with him. Annoying as he had plenty of money to spend and was proud of his bike. How many times has that happened to me before? I will be signing up!

Regards
Roy

Just thinking out loud...could you implement some kind of auction facility ala ebay. An image or a photograph is worthless unless an individual or organisation, abslotuley has to have that point in time shot.

Hi Muath,

I am not sure what you mean. You can browse the shopping cart system by simply clicking 'Youve Been Snapped'. Then just hit the search button with entering any data and you will see recent events. Some are password protected at the request of the client others are avaiable to view. Or you can go to "browes' and click stock shots followed by all to see many more images in the shopping cart environment.

Not sure what you expect for £10 quid, but I can assure you that are very unlikely to find a non branded shopping cart for any less and thats only a small part of what your membership provides.

Cheers

Hello Cjay
I am just beginning to understand your model - with regard to auctioning on it, it may be difficult to implement. My thinking was rather than having a fixed price for a photograph - dont set the value and let the interested parties battle it out.
This would apply to the larger event whereby an amatuer enthusiast has caught a celeb in an uncomprimising postion and is unsure of the pictures worth.

I am involved in the wedding industry (one element of) the thought that struck me first after I understood what it is you were trying do was that it would be an excellent way for Wedding photographers to sell their additional
pictures.
Not claiming to be an expert in the photography side of weddings but giving the 50, 100 or 200 guests the option to purchase a picture that is relevent to them and not only that but buy easily and in an annoymous way.
I am not sure where you are at with regard to the punting process but looking on the dozens of wedding related directories and website that allow advertsing you have a few hundered potential customers (photographers) to mailshot - and at a tenner a year only the mental ones would decline.
Regards
Tony

Hi Tony,

Both your ideas are catered for.

Our members can chose to auction a celeb/news pic if they wish. The way the media work on this issue is over the phone. The member simply waits for the highest bid and then lets the picture go to that bidder. The process is put in place by the member setting the price to POA.

On the wedding front the photographer can not only do as you suggest but install the shopping cart/on-line proofing system directly into their own website. In these circumstances the shopping cart does not carry ParazziPack branding so the cart will pretty much match any website.

The £10 bit is per month. However, there are simply no other shopping cart products available at this price.

If you have a few contacts in this area maybe you should give it a go. Clearly if you can establish a team quickly you can really make a considerable income.

Anyway thanks for your thoughts and interest and I hope you decide to get involved.

Cheers
