Hi, My first time using this forum. I am hoping to soon open a shop selling home interiors/accessories, selected costume jewellery, fashion handbags combined with coffee shop. I have been looking for premises for 2 years. Seems everyone wants a shop in Surrey. Anyway I have now found premises, but a bit out of my price range. Rent £13,000pa Council tax £3,000pa part time paid help in coffee shop, insurance? etc:- etc:- I was hoping to find something £10,000pa. Anyway anyone out there who already runs a similar business that can tell me that if I have an average flow of customers I Will survive.
I am tempted to take the shop, as I have been looking so long. But should I wait until I find (if ever) something a little cheaper.

I asked a friend of mine who runs a cafe/restaurant and she said there was no such thing as guessing in this game! (helpful of her ) Suggestions would be to spend time outside the site actually counting people and seeing if it gives you any cluses.

Obviously you can't be sure about how many of them will come in and spend (or how much) but if there's not enough passing footfall then none of the rest matters.
