Smile I've just started a new business

I'm a keen artist and have just set up a small business with my partner producing and selling modern art, i'd be grateful for any advice you have.

we haven't actually sold anything yet as we are in the early stages but as we are students and too young to pay tax as we dont have jobs do we need to get a permit or something similar?

You're liable to pay tax from the day you are born! The only reason why most students don't pay tax is because they earn less than their personal allowances. Just out of interest how old are you?

Whether or not you'll need a license/permit depends very much on how you'll be selling your art. If you're selling it on a market stall then you'll need a permit. If you're selling it in an e-commerce site then probably not.

I hope it does well for you (but don't forget your studies)

i'm 17 and in my last year at college, does this affect my plan in any way?

pay for some cheap hosting with someone like 1and1.co.uk it's only about £5/month. tripod freehosting sucks big time for business.
