Well i definitely want to go into business for myself. my step-dad currently runs a very successful tree-surgery business, and will be retireing in a few years. there is the option to take on the business after him, but i'm not sure wether or not i want to do that as a job. there is the possibility of expansion, but competition is fierce (believe me, the tree-surgery business is a dog-eat-dog world).
i have considered owning the business, and not working in it, but i think clarification will come in the next few years. i'll keep you posted anyway in case anyone is interested

Well the most interesting part of the course is where we have to create our own business from scratch, run it for 30 days and then close the business down. you get £5 start-up funds, and then the student with the most profit after the 30 days wins.
you don't get much time for innovation unfortunately, so most businesses are pretty basic, but its a good laugh. i did a fantasy football type game, but as it was only for 30 days, could not get too detailed. i made no profit in the end as i gave all profit away as prize money, but kept the fiver to break even, so didn't lose any face!

Are you allowed to form 30 day joint-ventures ?
As this (like in the real world) could help your business exponentially.

No - sole traders only. the idea is that the students get a sense of starting a business, running it and closing it down.
