Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce myself, as you can see my name is Simon, I live in South Wales. For a long time i have looked at ways of getting an online business, but didnt have a clue, still dont if i'm honest, this looks a good place to start. I would like to get involved in selling information products but realise there are quite a few doing it, i came across a licensing program from nick james, I haven't bought it yet, wondered if anyone can give me some advice. look forward to talking to you all.

Simon

Hi Simon and welcome.

Before you get into anything think about what you want to do. There are plenty of people ready and willing to help you part with your cash and leave you alone with nothing of substance to show for it.

Thanks Peterjhale for your input, I realise there are thousands of people out there willing to fleece me and sell me rubbish, this is one of the reason I joined this forum, i am interested in getting a business on line selling information products on many topics but its knowing where to start, i read alot about people like andrew reynolds, nick james tim lowe, to name a few, i wonder sometimes whether the income claimed to be made is for real. while it would be nice to earn this kind of money i am more of a realist and would be happy to earn a fraction of some of their claims. So if there is anyone on here with good experiences of this kind of business, i would like to hear from you.

Hi Simon (welcome),

If these 'information products' were any good you wouldn't be buying a bundle for $10 and selling them on for $100.

I got hold of one of them once and it was full of rubbish advice. The 'you can do anything you want, you just have to believe' sort of stuff. What you have is essentially a load of old tat that you will be pushing onto the sort of person who really believes they can earn £1000 a week stuffing envelopes.

I'm sure there are people making a living from affiliate sales but for every success there will be 1000 who fail. The sharks who sell them the business don't care, they make their money regardless.

thanks for your input fisicx

When i say infomation products, i dont mean the usual 'HOW TO MAKE A MILLION BUCKS IN A WEEK' type of rubbish.

For example in a previous life i qualified as a football development coach, and a chef, if i used my knowledge on one of these subjects for example and produced an e-book i could then sell this, what i want to know is how to put something like this together and how do i promote this on-line, sorry if i didnt make myself clear. simon

Remember the internet is like the gold rush

A lot of people want to sell you the picks and shovels and are making a ton of money doing just that whilst not really making money from following the information they sell (just making money selling the information)

If you want to dip your toe in the water to learn about SEO, article marketing etc why not start blogging ?

And as a shameless plug, I have pulled together what I believe are the best A-Z guides in a member site here - see my sig - you can use everything listed for a month for £9.95 - I've made it a low amount so people can jump in and see what's there

Other than that, just ask away on the forum any specific questions you may have
