web site building and linking to search engine's

I am very new to the business world and currently building my site for advertising my catering capabilities, i an a fully qualified chef and have catered for many different clients in different areas of the industry.

Having worked for company's i and lined their pockets for years, i thought it was time to line my own instead.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any comments people could pass on to me about what information you would post on your site e.g. what you should post and what you should steer away from on web site designing, and any inbformation about attaching my site to a search engine.
