I assume that you are starting some form of software consultancy? It's clear to have a good idea of what you are looking to do and have a good idea on what your success criteria will be - establish your goal.
If this is the case, be aware that software engineering is moving into "phase two" adoption within society. This means that factors such as quality level, support, level of certification, standards applied are becoming much more important than they were perhaps 5 - 10 years ago.
I'd strongly suggest partenering with someone who shares diverse skills from yourself. Being a technical wizzkid is all very well (and one of the more expensive skills within the outfit), but in business you need financial, marketing and sales skills - together with hardnosed business attitude. You are unlikely to have all of these qualities in the right balance to make it a success on your own.
Consider a bit of freelancing, to get a flavour for what's involved. Start with small scale developments and work your way up.
